Lazy River
Poster Design & Zine Design
Inspired by Zadie Smith’s short story A Lazy River, this poster and zine set explores how people try to resist the currents of life yet still get carried along by them. The project highlights three themes from the story: class, social media, and climate change, using visuals that place organic, flowing shapes within a strict grid to reflect the tension between freedom and structure. The design blends digital and analog elements, including a scanned Suminagashi print as the foundation. Together, these choices reflect the story’s idea that no matter how hard we push back, the lazy river moves us all.
